Brasilian emerald prices are up since a few months but until now material from Zambia, second biggest supplier for Indian market, did not show any increase.
Brasilian emerald prices are up since a few months but until now material from Zambia, second biggest supplier for Indian market, did not show any increase.
SInce the beginning of the year, price for emeralds from all provenances are following the Brasilian increase. All qualities and sizes in cut stones or cabochons are affected.
The quantity of black diamonds imported mainly from Australia increased at the end of last year but this material is going out of fashion.
Market is now full of these cheap diamonds but demand is so weak and stocks are so big that manufacturers are switching their production from cut stones to faceted necklaces.
As a result our Jaipur market is loaded with diamonds necklaces in black, brown and yellow color, all available at discounted rates.
