Due to the generalization of beryllium treatment on gemstones, Gemsbrokers-Chanthaburi and many people involved in our trade did contribute financially to the purchase of a Laser Ablation Inductively Coupled with a Plasma Mass Spectrometer. This testing machine has been ordered and technicians/gemologists are currently under training.
This LA-ICP-MS will be able to check beryllium content in gemstones and issue very much needed certificates. Commercial operations should begin within 6 months.
